Many sites have tent pads. Recreation vehicles up to 32 feet can be
accommodated. No hookups are available. Water hydrants and trash
receptacles are conveniently located throughout the campground loops.
Bath-houses with flush toilets and warm water showers are provided. One
bath-house is fully accessible for wheelchair use. A trailer waste
disposal station is located near the recreation area exit. The beach
and associated bath-house facilities are available to anyone camping
within Beartree Recreation Area. A beach 300 feet long is open from 10
a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. There is no lifeguard on duty. Two
bath-houses near the beach (a “his” and “hers”) provide flush toilets
and sinks. Visitors may also enjoy one of 13 picnic sites. Much of the
area is accessible to wheelchairs, including the 0.8 mile
Beartree Lake Trail.
The campground is typically open from about mid-April through the
first weekend in December (subject to change). The use is low to
moderate during weekdays, and moderate to high during weekends. The
use typically decreases during the month of August. During holiday
weekends (Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day), the
campground fills to capacity and reservations are recommended.
