at an elevation of 9,000' and reaches it's high point (11,500') at the lake.
Hunts Lake is in a tight basin glacial cirque, with trees along the lake shore.
To reach Hunts Lake Trail, travel 3 miles east from Salida Colorado along
Highway 50 and turn right (south) onto CR 101.
