Located within the Sangre De Cristo Wilderness Area, the 8.8 mile Bush Lakes
Trail is available for hiking & horseback riding and is rated Easy for
hiking. The lakes are located below the timberline at the base of Thirsty &
Lakes Peaks and receive significant use on weekends and holidays in the summer
months.

Bush Lakes Trail is accessed by
turning west onto Lake Creek Road #198 just outside the town of Hillside
Colorado and traveling along this dirt road for about 2 miles to the Forest
Service road which is signed for Brush Lakes. Travel along this FS road to
the end and the trailhead for Rainbow Trail & Brush Lakes Trail. |
