Located within Colorado
National Monument, the 1.75 mile Serpents Trail has more than 50
switchbacks and is called "the Crookedest Road in the World". Traveling from
east to west Serpents Trail was built in the early 1900's and was part of
the main road until 1950.
To reach Colorado National Monument from while traveling west
take Highway I-70 to Grand Junction to Exit 31. Follow signs through
Grand Junction to the east entrance.
While traveling east take
Highway I-70 to Exit 19 (Fruita) and travel south 4.0 miles along Highway
340 to the west entrance.
