Rio
Grande National Forest
Available for hiking, and horseback riding,
Fern Creek Trail begins with a rather steady strong 3.5 mile climb toward
Little Ruby Lake, after which the trail flattens out, makes a short climb
through a small patch of spruce, then heads gradually downhill to Texas
Creek. For a mile past Texas Creek, Fern Creek Trail passes through a flat
plateau country know as California Park, then makes a steep winding
descent into the little Squaw Creek bottom. Eventually the trail descends
to the Squaw Creek Trail. |
