Available to hikers, ATVs and motorcycles,
West Lost Trail begins at the confluence of West Lost Trail Creek and Lost
Creek Trail and climbs parallel to the creek bottom for about 4 miles.
West Lost Trail then climbs towards the head of West Lost Trail Creek
drainage. The Continental Divide and access to Cataract Lake is reached
after a gradual climb of about a mile.

To reach West Lost Trail from Creede Colorado, travel
southeast along CO 149 for 20.1 to it's intersection with FR 520 (Rio
Grande Reservoir/Upper Rio Grande Road), then about 16.5 miles on FR 520
to Lost Trail creek Trailhead. |
