Salt Park Trail #1114

River National Forest
Available for hiking and horseback riding, the 13.3 mile
(5.5 miles within White River NF) Salt Park Trail follows an old road for
the first 3.5 miles through aspen stands open parks as it crosses
several small streams. The trail then leaves the bottom & climbs about 2
miles to the Routt National Forest boundary & enters the west end of Salt
Park. Salt Park Trail then turns south for 2 miles to the southern
boundary of Routt Forest and follows the boundary for 3.2 miles passing
the west fork of Lost Park Trail #1805. At the east fork of Lost Park
Trail, Salt Park Trail becomes #1114-1A for 2.6 miles and ends at th
Deadhorse-Long Park Loop (FR 230). |

To reach Salt Park Trail from
Meeker Colorado, travel east along CO 13 for 34 miles and turn south onto
Morapos Creek Jct. (CR 41). Continue along CR 41 for 12 miles to the forest
boundary, continue another 0.25 mile to Morapos Trailhead Campground. Salt
Park Trail begins at the northeast corner of the parking lot. |
