Covering 250,000 acres with
an elevation range from 7,000 feet to over 13,000 feet on the
Continental Divide, the Boulder Ranger District
is home to the east side of the Indian Peaks Wilderness, the
Peak-to-Peak Highway and hundreds of miles of trails. The Boulder
Ranger District is located mainly in
Boulder County and the northern portions of
Gilpin County.
Located in north-central Colorado, the 650,022 acre Canyon
Lakes Ranger District offers a variety of recreational
opportunities and is home to 4 wilderness areas, 3 national
recreational trails, 2 historic districts and Colorado's only Wild
and Scenic River. Canyon Lakes Ranger District is located mostly in
Larimer County.
Home to Mount Evans Scenic Byway Recreation Area, Mount Evans
Wilderness, Peak-to-Peak Byway, Loveland Ski Area and Guanella Pass
Scenic Byway, Clear Creek Ranger District is Denver's
western gateway to the National Forest. Covering about 200,000 acres
Clear Creek Ranger District is located in 4 different counties;
Clear Creek County,
Gilpin County, and small portions of
Jefferson
&
Park
Counties.
Surrounded by mountain peaks, meadows and lakes, the 442,000 acre
Sulphur Ranger District is located in
Grand County.
Located in
Weld County in northeastern Colorado, Pawnee National
Grassland is comprised of 2 parcels totaling 193,000 acres.
