Located within the Pagosa Ranger District of
San Juan National Forest, the 9.3 mile (to junction with
Fourmile Trail #569) Anderson Trail climbs up out of the Fourmile
Creek drainage and travels near the base of the impressive
east/southeast face of Pagosa Peak. Anderson Trail then turns north
and switchbacks steeply up the east shoulder of the mountain before
dropping down into the upper Falls Creek drainage. The trail continues
on to Fourmile Lake and on to the junction with Fourmile Trail.
Fourmile trailhead is located at the end of County
Road 400/FDR 645.
