Pike & San Isabel National Forest, Cimarron & Comanche National Grasslands, National Forest in Colorado

Available for Hiking, Biking & Horseback riding, the 5.5 mile Jefferson Loop Trail offers a wide timber foot bridge which crosses Jefferson Creek, and several gentle switchbacks which allow access to the southeast side of a broad forested ridge which is an extension of the Continental Divide.

To reach Jefferson Loop Trail

Turn west onto Jefferson Lake Road (CR 35) in Jefferson Colorado to FR 37. Continue 5.2 miles to the beaver Ponds PG.
Turn west onto Jefferson Lake Road (CR 35) in Jefferson Colorado to FR 37. Continue 4 miles to Lodgepole Campground. Near site 11 the trail heads west following Jefferson Creek. No day-use parking is available for this access point, recommended for campers within Lodgepole Campground only.
