White River National Forest
Available for Hiking, and Horseback Riding,
the 8.0 mile Stillwater Trail starts near where Cabin Creek flows into
Trappers Lake. After climbing 100 yards on a gentle slope, crossing a
meadow, then entering the timber, Stillwater Trail follows Cabin Creek
for a mile to Little Trappers Lake. After passing by the lake the trail
climbs for 2 miles until reaching Flat Tops plateau at 11,000'.
Continuing across the rolling tundra for a mile the trail junctions with
Chinese Wall
Trail #1803 and enters Routt National Forest and ends at Stillwater
Reservoir in the Yampa River drainage.
