Pisgah National Forest
Length: 6.0 miles
Rating: Strenuous
This is a short but steep trail that climbs 160 feet in elevation in
the course of 0.6 mile. On a clear day, the trail has views of up to 70
miles distant.
The cold, clear weather usually associated with autumn and winter
enhances the view; though other times of year are just as good for other
reasons. High elevations are good places to escape the heat of July and
the blooms of rhododendron and flame azalea are an attraction in mid to
late June.
