Fawn Lake Road

Located within
DuPont State Forest, the 0.75 mile Fawn Lake Road is available for
hiking,
biking and horseback riding. Rated easy, the graveled Fawn
Lake Road provides access to Fawn Lake. At it's southern end/beginning
at the intersection of Conservation Road
and Reasonover Creek Trail, travels to a parking area, then continues to
the junction of Mine Mountain Trail and Scarlet Oak Trail. Fawn Lake
Road then continues on to it's first intersection with Fawn Lake Loop.
Fawn Lake Road then reaches the west side of Fawn Lake, before
continuing on to it's second intersection with Fawn Lake Loop. After
passing the second intersection of Fawn Lake Loop, Fawn Lake Road
continues past another intersection with Mine Mountain Trail before
ending/beginning along Conservation Road.

From
Asheville North Carolina, travel east along I-26 to exit 40
(Airport) and travel south along NC 280 for 16 miles to US 64 and turn
east (left). Continue along US64 for 4 miles and turn right onto Crab
Creek Road. Follow Crab Creek Road for 4 miles to DuPont Road and turn
right. Continue along DuPont Road for 3.1 miles.
From
Brevard North Carolina, travel south along US 276 to Cedar Mountain
and turn left onto Cascade Lake Road. Follow Cascade Lake Road for 2.5
miles to Staton Road/DuPont Road and turn right. Continue along Staton
Road/DuPont road for 1.5 miles to the Buck Forest access area.
From
Hendersonville North Carolina, travel south along Church Street (US
25 Business) to Kanuga Road and turn right. Continue along Kanuga Road,
which becomes Crab Creek Road for 11 miles to DuPont Road and turn left.
Follow DuPont Road for 3.1 miles.
