Cliff Trail

Length: 2.2 miles
The Cliff Trail starts across FDR 62 from the
Hone Quarry day use area and offers excellent views of Shenandoah
Mountain and Reddish Knob. This 2.2 mile trail climbs to Oak Knob where it
ties into the Slate Springs Trail. A 6.5 mile loop can be made by
continuing northwest on the Slate Springs Trail, descending on the Pond
Knob Trail back to FDR 62, and returning to Hone Quarry.

Directions:
From Harrisonburg, take SR 42 south to Dayton. Turn right on SR 257 and
proceed 11 miles west to FDR 62 and follow the sign about 3 miles to the
campground. Hearthstone Lake is about 5 miles south of Hone Quarry off FDR
1117, and can be reached via FDR 101.
