Powell County Kentucky Hiking Trails

Located within Red River Gorge section of the Daniel Boone
National Forest, the 1 mile Rush Ridge Trail #227 serves as a
connector trail for the Sheltowee Trace National Recreation
Trail #100, Section 13 and the Rough Trail #221. Traveling along
a wooded ridge, Rush Ridge Trail offers several scenic overlooks
into the gorge.
Rush Ridge Trail is located in Powell and Wolfe Counties.
Rush Ridge Trail is a hiking only trail which is open
year round.
To reach Rush Ridge Trail from Slade, Kentucky, travel east
along KY 15 for 3.2 miles to Tunnel Ridge Road on the left.
Follow Tunnel Ridge Road for 0.7 miles to the parking area for
the Pinch-em-tight Trail (Shaltowee Trace Trail #100, Section
13). Travel along Pinch-em-tight Trail to it's junction with
Rush Ridge Trail.
