Located within the Cliffty Wilderness section of the Daniel
Boone National Forest, the 0.5 mile Tower Rock Trail #229
travels from Highway 715 down to the base of Tower Rock. Tower
Rock is a 90" sandstone pinnacle which is popular rock climbing.
Tower Rock Trail is available for hiking only, year round.
To reach Tower Rock Trail from the Slade, Kentucky exit of
the Mountain Parkway, follow Highway 11 north for 0.1 mile to
Highway 15 and turn left. Continue along Highway 11/15 west for
1.4 miles to Highway 77 and turn right. Continue 4.9 miles along
Highway 77, through Nada Tunnel and across the Rid River
to Highway 715. Travel along 715 for 4.1 miles to the unmarked
pull-off on the right side of the road. Tower Rock Trail begins
along the left side of the road where a wooden sign marks the
start of the trail.
