Located within Red River Gorge section of the Daniel Boone
National Forest, the 0.25 mile Whistling Arch Trail #234 travels
along a wooded ridge to Whistling Arch, a buttress-type arch
formation with a scenic overlook.
Whistling Arch Trail is a hiking only trail which is open
year round.
To reach Whistling Arch Trail, from the Mountain Parkway,
take the Slade, Kentucky exit and follow Highway 11 north for
0.1 mile to Highway 15. Turn right onto Highway 15 and continue
7 miles east to Highway 715 and turn left. Follow Highway 715
for 4.5 miles to Whistling Arch parking area on the left.
From Pine Ridge, exit Mountain Parkway at Pine Ridge and
travel west along Highway 15 to Highway 715 and turn right.
Follow Highway 715 for 4.5 miles to the parking area on the
left.
