Located within the 22,000+ acre Assabet River National
Wildlife Refuge, the 0.9 mile Petapawag Trail follows an old
railroad trunk line. Petapawag Trail intersects with several
trails including Powerline Trail, Tebassa Trail, Towhee Trail
and White Pond Road.
Several parking areas are available in Assabet River National
Wildlife Refuge. The main parking lot is located along Hudson
Road in Sudbury Massachusetts, 3 miles west of the Town Center
of Sudbury. Located off White Pond road is the north gate
parking area which may be reached from Route 117 in Stow
Massachusetts. Additional parking is available at the Visitor
Center.
To reach the office and visitor center travel along Route 27
(1.7 miles from Wayland and turn right onto Water Row Road.
Continue along Water Row Road for 1.2 miles to it's end at
Lincoln Road and turn right. Follow Lincoln Road for 0.5 miles
and turn left onto Weir Hill Road. Travel along Weir Hill Road
to it's end.
