Located within
Hampden County Massachusetts, Brimfield State Forest offers
over 20 miles of roads and trails which are available for
hiking, biking, cross-country skiing and horseback riding. The
western portion of Brimfield State Forest is home to Dean Pond
Recreation Area where a 100' beach is available as well as a
pavilion, comfort station and picnic facilities.
To reach the Dean Pond Recreation Area section of Brimfield
State Forest
From the West, take Massachusetts Turnpike East (Route I-90E)
to exit 8 in Palmer. Take Route 32 south to Route 20 east.
Follow Route 20E toward to Monson Road and turn right. Continue
along Monson Road to the next left and turn onto Dean Pond Road.
Travel 2 miles along Dean Pond Road to the Recreation Area.
From the east, take Massachusetts Turnpike (Route I-90) to
exit 9 in Sturbridge and take Route 20 West thru Brimfield. Turn
left onto Monson Road and turn at the first left onto Dean Pond
Road. Travel 2 miles along Dean Pond Road to the Recreation Area
on the right.
