Nathaniel, Piney and Big mountains dominate the area, ranging from
1,000 to 3,050 feet, and the forests are primarily mixed oak-hickory and
Virginia pine. Fishing for native brook trout can be rewarding on Mill
Run, a steep mountain stream which tumbles over a seven mile course to
join the South Branch of the Potomac River, one of West Virginia's most
productive smallmouth bass fisheries.
