Located in the southern end of Finger Lakes
National Forest, the 2.5 mile Burnt Hill Trail is rated Easy. The primitive
Burnt Hill Trail offers many beautiful vistas as it crosses pastures and
shrub-lands along a natural tread. The Burnt Hill Trail intersects with the
Interloken and Backbone Trail.
Burnt Hill Trail is closed to horses users from March 15th thru May 1st
due to muddy conditions.
To reach the Burnt Hill Trail from Watkins Glen New York turn right
onto NY 414 North, at the Forth Street intersection travel 9.0 miles north
past the Hector Ranger Station (on right). Turn right onto Schuyler County
Route 2 and continue 4.1 miles east to the View Point parking area. Burnt
Hill Trail is located on the south side of the road. |
