Located within Bald Eagle
State Park, the 1.5 mile Butterfly Trail is rated easy and is marked
with a red blaze. The mowed Butterfly Trail was created for the conservation
of butterflies, increases your opportunities for close encounters with
butterflies in their natural setting.
Traveling from it's trailhead west of the beach area near
Pavilion #6, Butterfly Trail loops around a pond, traveling through a mix of
grasses, wildflowers, shrubs and young trees.

An interpretive area provides information and examples of butterfly habitat
components.
Directions:
Bald Eagle State Park, Centre County, is along PA Route 150 between
Milesburg and Lock Haven. From the west, take I-80 to Exit 158 and take PA
Route 150 north for about 10 miles. From the east, take I-80 to Exit 178 and
take U.S. Route 220 north, then take PA Route 150 south for about 13 miles.
