Allegheny National Forest
This trail is 1.1 miles long and is marked with blue diamonds. As it
follows Penoke Run, it passes through a grassy savannah on an old railroad
grade. The large old stumps in the savannah are the remnants of a forest
that was cut at the turn of the century.
This trail is for hiking, skiing and mountain biking. Motorized
vehicles, ATVs, and snowmobiles, are not allowed on any of the trails.
Forest trails policy prohibits the use of saddle, pack or draft animals on
hiking or cross county ski trails. If you are hunting in the area, please
make sure you are outside the campground boundary.
