Oconee Station State Historic Site

Located within
Oconee County South Carolina, the 210 acre Oconee Station State Historic
Site is home to 2 structures, Oconee Station, a stone blockhouse which was
used as an outpost from 1792-1799 by the U.S. Military, and the William
Richards House, which was a trading post in 1805. In addition to the
historic buildings at Oconee Station State Historic Site, there is also a
nature trail and fishing pond.
To reach Oconee Station State Historic Site from I-85 Northbound,
take exit 1 at the GA/SC state line onto Highway 11. Continue along
Highway 11 for 26 miles and turn left onto Oconee Station Road. Travel
2 miles along Oconee Station Road to the park entrance. |
