Waterfalls |
Several hiking trails are available within Pinnacle Natural
Area Preserve. Offering great views, waterfalls and a 400' tall
rock outcrop, Pinnacle Natural Area Preserve is one of
Virginia's most popular natural area preserves.
Hiking Trails located within Pinnacle include:
- Big Cedar Creek Trail - 1 mile - White Blaze
- Big Falls Trail - 5 miles - Orange Blaze
- Clinch River Trail - 0.5 miles - Blue Blaze
- Copper Ridge Trail - 0.5 miles - Red Blaze
- Pinnacle View Loop - 0.5 miles - Orange Blaze
Waterfalls located within Pinnacle include a small waterfall
along Big Cedar Creek and "Big Falls" which is also along Big
Cedar Creek.
To reach Pinnacle Natural Area Preserve from Abingdon
Virginia, travel along US 19 north to Lebanon and turn left onto
VA 82 towards Cleveland. Continue along VA 82 to VA 640 and turn
right. At it's junction with VA 740, bear right to continue
along VA 640 and continue to VA 721. Turn left onto VA 721 and
follow to the preserve.
