Rube Rock Trail
|
Located within Pisgah National Forest, the
4.5 mile Rube Rock Trail is rated strenuous due to it's steepness in
several places. Traveling from the Appalachian Trail, Rube Rock Trail
descends to an intersection with Forest Service Road 358A. The easiest
route for Rube Rock Trail is from the Appalachian Trail to
Groundhog Creek Trail. Rude Rock Trail is available to both
hikers and horseback riders.
To reach Rube Rock Trail from
Hot Springs North Carolina, travel south along NC 209 for 7.5
miles to NC 1175 and turn right. Continue along NC 1175 for 4 miles to
NC 1181 and turn right. Travel along NC 1181 to the intersection with
NC 1182 and turn left. Travel along NC 1182 to the next right and turn
onto FR 148 (Cold Springs Road) and continue to the Harmon Den Parking
area. |
