Fannin County Georgia Hiking Trails
Long Branch Loop Trail
|
Available for both hiking and
biking, the 2 mile Long Branch Loop Trail is part of the Aska Trail
System. Beginning in the northeast corner of the Shady Falls Parking
Lot, Long Branch Loop travels along an old logging road. Within 300
yards Long Branch Loop reaches a fork, with the right-hand fork
traveling gradually downhill along the road bed, crossing a creek and
ascending gently onto a grassy road.
At 0.75 mile a side trail is reached. This side trail travels to
Green Mountain Trail.
Continuing along Long Branch Loop, the trail descends to a branch
crossing, then ascends to the ridge top. Turn left and continue
another mile back to the original fork in the trail. Turn right and
continue 300 yards to the parking lot. |
