Yadkin County North Carolina Hiking Trails

Bean Shoals Canal Trail

Located within Pilot Mountain State Park, the 0.5 mile Bean Shoals Canal Trail travels along the north shore of the Yadkin River as it weaves along a railroad trestle (active) and along the ruins of the unfinished Bean Shoals Canal.

To reach Pilot Mountain State Park river section from East Bend North Carolina, turn right onto Fairground Road from Main Street. Continue along Fairground Road to Shady Grove Church Road and turn right. Travel along Shady Grove Church Road to the park.
