Collins Cove Horse Camp is open
year round, however the Forest Service does not plow snow along the access
road or in the campground. Weekday use is typically low while weekends can
see moderate to heavy use. The campground typically fills to capacity during
holiday weekends. Campsites are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Directions:
From I 81: take exit 67, 70, or 72 at Wytheville
Virginia onto US 11 (Main Street). On the west end of town, US 11 turns

approximately 11.5 miles to VA 619 (Saint Peters Road) at Speedwell. Turn
east on VA 619 and go 7.7 miles. Follow VA 619 carefully as it takes
several twists and turns. Turn right onto VA 642 (Pope Road), then go 0.8

road to the entrance to the campground on the left at a rail fence.
