Madison County North Carolina Hiking Trails

White Oak Trail

Length: 2.3 miles
Rating: Strenuous

White Oak Trail begins at the end of FR 465. The trail begins on an old logging road and climbs for approx .5 miles where it comes to the edge of FR 465A. This road is gated and leads back to the parking area. From this point, the trail continues to climb and eventually crosses the head of the West Prong of Hickey Fork Creek. The trail continues to climb and intersects with an old road. It follows this road to the intersection of Pounding Mill Trail .8 miles north of Seng Gap.

Directions:

From Hot Springs, go east on US 25/70 to State Road 208 at Big Laurel Creek. Turn left and follow SR 208 for 3.5 miles to SR 212. Turn right onto SR 212 and go 7 miles to SR 1310. Turn left on SR 1310 and go 1.5 miles to where the road forks. Bear left and go to the end of the road. Parking is available to the right. NOTE: SR 1310 becomes FR 465 after .5 miles.
