Babcock State Park
Length: 2.5 miles
Easy, gentle grade: follows bed of Manns Creek Railway which connected
Clifftop with Sewel until its closure in 1956. Railroad ties, telegraph
poles, and other remnants of old railway are still evident.
Trailheads: service road between campground and economy cabins, and
on Sewell Road approximately ¾ mile below cabin 13.Be prepared to carry
your bike around several difficult section of the trail.
Directions:
Babcock State Park is easily accessible from Beckley
and points south by following US 19 north.
At the US Rt. 60 exit travel east 10 miles to State Rt. 41 South.
Babcock's campground is 2 miles south of Rt.60 at Clifftop, while the main
park entrance is 2 miles south of Clifftop.
