Macon County North Carolina Waterfalls
|
Located within Nantahala National Forest, the 75' high Dry
Falls is a "must see" waterfall near Highlands North Carolina.
In addition to it's beauty, Dry Falls offers an accessible
viewing area of the falls from a distance. Leading down to the
bottom (actually more like the middle) of the falls is a series
of steps, then a path which takes you behind Dry Falls.
Depending on the wind, you may get somewhat wet while walking
behind the falls. Depending on the location of the sun, a
rainbow may be visible, especially when looking from behind the
falls.
To reach Dry Falls from Highlands, North Carolina take Hwy 64
west toward Franklin, travel 3.0 miles (0.7 miles past
Bridal Veil Falls),
parking area is on left. Take steps down to falls.
